This is a profoundly rare, very early 1930's vintage, original and authentic, made in France, Byzance 70° lotion splash in a 1-ounce (30ml) size by Grenoville, Paris. The bottle style is “Présentation de Luxe.”

See photos for condition of the top and the level of the fragrance. Vintage fragrances are not refundable.

This bottle, with scalloped Bakelite screw-top cap, is in excellent condition with its internal plug. The plug has released from the cap, see photos and the plug was not removed for these photos.

There is one label missing in the front, the glue shows the location. The main label and the 2 white paper labels are intact.

The upper paper face label reads: Lotion Grenoville Parfumeur a Paris depuis 1879 composée d’essences naturelles et de vieux alcools. Printed in France.

The side paper label reads: Reg. No. 8844 T.D.S.P. (“TDSP” was used on perfume bottles during the 1930s and 1940s. It stands for “Tratado sobre el Derecho Sustantivo de Patentes” and translates as ”Substantive Patent Law Treaty”).

The lower back paper label reads 70° and the base of the bottle is embossed: Grenoville Bottle Made in France.

Originally launched in 1926, (first under the name Nikys; however, the name was changed to Byzance one year later), Byzance is classified as an oriental floral scent with top notes of bergamot, mimosa, sharp gardenia, heliptrope, and lily of the valley; middle notes of broom, rosewood, tobacco, and lemon grass on a base of amber, benzoin, musk, and sandalwood.
