Made in Japan. These Lusterware miniature creamers are excellent examples of early Made in Japan pieces.

Lustreware or Lusterware is a type of pottery or porcelain with a metallic glaze that gives the effect of iridescence. It is produced by metallic oxides in an overglaze finish, which is given a second firing at a lower temperature in a "muffle kiln", or a reduction kiln, excluding oxygen. (Wikipedia)

This is a set of 2 miniature pitchers.

Farm House design pitcher is 2" H x 3.25" W. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There are some imperfections in the glazing but it appears to be original to the piece. The farm scene with the lake appears to be hand painted.

Blue Bird design pitcher is 1.75" H x 2.25" W. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The design appears to be hand painted.

These pitchers are an amazing addition to any collection. The iridescent finish makes them beautiful on a shelf, in a shadow box or shown off with others in a collection.

Use as creamers, for sauces or to hold toothpicks.
