This is a pair of late 19th century French steel cut shoe buckles. Faceted cut steel shimmers like diamonds in a dramatic art nouveau rectangular with diamond center surrounding a flower design.

Originally worn as shoe buckles, these beautiful pieces could be worn as a scarf tie, accent on a belt, hair accent, or other creative ways.

The backs have slender bars marked Made in France. See photos for actual condition of back bars.
