Saraswati is a Hindu goddess who represents education, creativity, and music. The name Saraswati stems from the Sanskrit root "saras," which means "that which is fluid." Maa Saraswati is known to bring order out of chaos and has a calming and centering personality.

Saraswati commemorates a battle between good and evil. Saraswati is an important goddess in Balinese Hinduism. She shares the same attributes and iconography as Saraswati in Hindu literature of India – in both places, she is the goddess of knowledge, creative arts, wisdom, language, learning and purity.

Saraswati is the deity governing the fifth, throat chakra, the vishuddha chakra. Vishuddha, in Sanskrit, means purity. Her energy center governs speech and communication. It's located in the throat space and its color is blue, which encourages peaceful communication.
