LifeXplore Apothecary Jar Lid is Stuck! What You Do to Fix it!
Congratulations! You are the proud owner of a NHT Violet Glass Apothecary Bottle! Now, the lid is stuck and what do you do?
The LifeXplore Apothecary lids are hand ground at the Miron Glass factory to fit airtight using just gravity.
Because each lid fits its jar so snuggly, you don't need to add any additional downward pressure to the lid. Having said that, it does happen that lids get suck. Either in shipping, someone doesn't know and forces the lid down, or when something falls from the cabinet above and smacks the lid (yes, that's happened to us!)
Here are three different techniques to get the apothecary jar open:
- Wiggle and twist the lid.
- Try applying pressure to the underside of the lid lip.
- Keep coaxing as it takes a bit to let the pressure release.
- Like a pickle jar, it takes a strong hand to get the pressure released.
- You'll sometime feel the pressure releasing.
- Here is a simple way to release the pressure:
- Submerge in water.
- Bring slowly to a boil.
- The pressure should release the lid.
- Last resort!
- Spray a little WD-40 down as far as you can.
- Twist and wiggle.
- Be aware that this is not suggested for food safety reasons and done at your own risk. But if you do, wash very, very thoroughly. Scrub the lid and neck to remove all the chemical.
Thank you for your purchase of your LifeXplore Violet Glass. Please consider the other bottles, bowl and jars to add to your storage solutions in your home.
